We visited the four care homes operated by Ballesol in Madrid to measure current water consumption and look at potential ways of saving water and, in so doing, energy and cost.

Ballesol Mirasierra

  • The problem: the care home wanted its showers and basins to be more efficient and sustainable in their use of water and energy.
  • The solution: Showersmart was chosen for the showers and M22 for the basin taps. option to install Connect in the showers in order to regulate their temperature to a range between 28 and 32 degrees. Taps 1P Inline
  • The result: Annual water consumption fell from 12,045m3 to 4,270m3 once Showersmart was installed. An annual saving of 7,775 euros

Ballesol Pasillo Verde

  • The problem: the care home wanted its showers and basins to be more efficient and sustainable in their use of water and energy
  • The solution: Showersmart was chosen for the showers and M22 for the basin taps option to install Connect in the showers in order to regulate their temperature to a range between 28 and 32 degrees. Taps 1P Inline
  • The result: Annual water consumption fell from 11.826 m3 to 5,124 m3, following the installation of Showersmart. An annual saving of 6,702 m3 and 6,702 euros

Ballesol Latina

  • The problem: The maintenance department uses aerators that produce a variable flow of 11-12 litres/minute.
  • The solution: Showersmart was chosen for the showers and M22 for the basin taps. Potential for 1P Inline in the taps
  • The result: Annual water consumption fell from 11,315 m3 to 4.412m3 following the installation of Showersmart: annual savings of 6,702€ and 6,903 m3.

Ballesol Principe de Vergara

  • The problem: Showerheads allowing a flow of 12 litres/minute.
  • The solution: Showersmart was chosen for the showers and M22 for the basin taps. Potential for 1P Inline in the taps
  • The result: Annual usage fell from 8,979m3 to 5,836m3 following the installation of Showersmart: annual savings of 3,143 m3 and 3,143 euros.
