Background: Gloria Palace Royal Hotel & Spa, is located in the south of the island of Gran Canaria, right on the spectacular seafront at Playa de Amadores. Despite its state of the art wáter supply system, the hotel did occasionally receive complaints from guests who experienced discomfort from unwanted temperature fluctuations in their showers.
This is an inconvenience that often arises in centralised hot water installations. It is related to the design of the installation and the random way in which multiple customers might access the hot water system at the same time. High levels of demand can produce sudden variations in the water pressure, causing apparent waves of hot or cold for guests in the shower.
Solution: Having studied the problem as well as the layout of the pipes and taps, we concluded that the ideal solution for this system would be the installation of HL2024 Inline 1P ½” (5l/min) in the hatches of every bedroom, specifically in the hot and cold pipes that lead to the mixer tap for the shower. By stabilising the flow in both pipes – with no dependence on water pressure – we managed to stabilise the mixture and the temperature.
Result: Once we’d fitted our HL2024 product within the system, we established that the temperature now remains steady in all the hotel’s showers. All a guest has to do is choose how hot or cold they want their shower. There have been no further complaints about temperature changes and as a result, customer comfort is now optimal and the overall customer experience has improved.
