The problem: Livensa Living, one of the most important chains of university halls of residence in Spain and Portugal, wanted its buildings in both countries to become more efficient, saving water and energy. We did a pilot study in their hall of residence in Seville, which has more than 500 bedrooms.
The solution: Having seen how well our products worked and how much water and energy they were saving, the halls of residence operator undertook the relevant tests and measurements in the rest of their buildings and decided to proceed with all those that showed scope for savings, both in Spain and in Portugal.
We have installed Showersmart with a flow of 7.8 litres per minute in all the showers in 14 of their halls of residence.
The result: The average reduction in waterflow has been above 30% in their showers
As the volume of water used is reduced, so too is the requirement for energy to heat it. So the operator has obtained a double saving whilst also achieving improved efficiency and comfort in its showers which now have a constant flow, unaffected by any changes in water pressure.
